The Shattered Abyss is a special level only accessible by killing an enemy with melee in Level 1 of Dante Station or Beyond. Doing this will open a portal to the Shattered Abyss in the starting area of the level.
While on this level, no guns or grenades may be used, only melee attacks are usable. Smoke screen also cannot be used.
It consists of a winding rock bridge leading North populated by Reavers of various types, up to and including Archreavers. At the end of this path, an island with a boss called The Swordmaster is waiting.
Killing the Swordmaster is the only way to obtain Soulstealer, a powerful Unique sword.
The level can be left by walking through the same portal that you entered by, which will take you to Dante/Beyond L2.
