The Pit is a special level for the second moon, Europa.
The Pit consists of a maze of caves and pits, with structures (8 cages and a central tower) in the center. Fiends roam the outer maze. In each quadrant is a terminal which will unlock 2 cages and 1 reward.

Rexio[]

There will be one Kerberos that is noticeably smaller than normal. Interacting with this Kerberos (while not holding a melee weapon) will cause it to sit, and eventually become friendly. This action will fail if it is ever hurt before or during this process.
Rexio will accompany the player to other levels and is capable of levelling up and becoming stronger, eventually becoming strong enough to take down almost anything on its own if it lives long enough.
