The Mephitic Mines are a side branch to the third moon, Io. It contains the special level Noxious Hollow.
The area of Noxious Hollow consist of green-coloured cave areas with several large buildings. The outside areas have many green barrels.

Manufacturer Perk[]
Gear found in the Mephitic Mines, not including AV or Unique items, will have the Io Defense Reserve manufacturer perk, granting -50% reload time to weapons and partial (25%) poison protection to armors and headgear.
Branch Mission[]
Each level will have a wandering poison clouds, similar to toxic contamination event. Terminals at each level will have an option to reroute the gas which clears the toxic clouds throughout the level, but will cause multiple plaguebearers to spawn and hunt the player. At the final level, additional plaguebearers will spawn based on the number of terminals rerouted as well as any plaguebearers which were left alive on previous levels.
If the gas was rerouted on every level, there will be an "eerie shimmering gas" that spawns in the Noxious Hollow which will grant Mephitic Attunement, providing poison immunity. If the player already has Rift Attunement from Callisto Rift, they will instead gain Mephitic Taint, which provides poison immunity, causes all poison you deal to be 50% stronger, and makes you radiate a strong poison aura.
Noxious Hollow[]
Noxious Hollow consists of a labyrinthine cave with poison clouds constantly spawning in random locations. The light level here is low, with a vision range of 4.
The rewards are all contained in a lootbox near the center of the area.
