Combat knife is probably the first melee weapon you will find in any run, unless you're playing Angel of Berserk. With 20 damage and the pierce damage type, it can take down most soldiers in Callisto in one hit and security bots in two. Guaranteed drop from former sergeants.

Trusty combat knife. It's biggest advantage is it's silent and doesn't use ammo.
as of v1.1 (Exordium) all Combat Knifes now have the weapon perk "Resilient", which reduces pain effect on accuracy by half.
