Chaingun is a powerful mid-range automatic weapon. It deals low damage per shot but heavy damage per burst. Due to its high fire rate, the Sustained fire trait and critical damage modifiers are exceptionally good with chaingun.
Added with patch 0.9.0 was the spool-up mechanic, which increases shots fired each consecutive turn of firing a chaingun.
