The CalSec Warden is a boss which guards the spaceship and exit inside the northern hangar of the Valhalla Spaceport. It is a large 2x2 sized mechanical unit resembling something between a tank and 4-legged mech.

Mechanics[]

If you deal more than 30 damage in one turn and trigger the damage gate, any excess damage will be lost and it will its mortar attack for 3 volleys instead. During this time, it has Bulwark, granting it 6 protection (12 vs slash, 3 vs plasma and pierce).

Tips[]

  • The CalSec Warden can be shut down from Valhalla Command with a total of three valsec keycards, bypassing the fight entirely. Note that when doing this, the Warden will be disabled but not dead - it must still be destroyed to get the rewards.
  • EMP grenades are very effective against the CalSec Warden. You can always find an ammo manufacture terminal in the Military Barracks which can be used to manufacture 2 EMP grenades. It may take more than one grenade to kill on higher difficulties.
  • As the doors to the hangar are invincible, you can trigger the bulwark and quickly close the doors to avoid being hit by any of them. You can also duck around the corner of the doors to dodge them, as the mortars cannot pass through walls.
  • You can use weaker weapons to avoid triggering bulwark entirely (a normal grenade launcher or auto rifle does fine)
  • The MDF sentries from Mimir Central may be able to do significant damage to the warden, but this is very inconsistent. Results may improve by separating the sentries into two separate groups and sending them in all at once, as sending them in as a single group will cause them all to explode in the same mortar volley, and sending them in one at a time tends to not accomplish much. Don't follow the pack or you'll explode along with them.
