The basic armor is a common armor, and usually the first armor the player will wear in the game. It features the lowest protection of any body armor in the game, but has a low dodge penalty.

Basic kevlar armor, nicknamed by the marines 'green armor' due to the hue, and the fact that only rookies are stupid enough to wear it. Don't expect it to save your skin.

A yellow armor box will always spawn on Callisto L2 containing one basic armor and one basic helmet, which can be an AV variant. On nightmare and higher difficulties, another yellow armor box will spawn on Callisto L1 as well.
