Asterius Habitat is a side branch for the second moon, Europa. It leads to the special level, Asterius Breach.

The levels of Asterius Habitat are series of rooms and narrow corridors, with blue and brown walls and shiny floors.

  • Turret

Manufacturer Perk[]

Weapons found in Asterius Habitat, not including AV or Unique weapons, have the AsterTech manufacturer perk. This makes their damage apply the chill status. On armors/helmets AT manufacturer perk gives a 25% cold resistance per piece. Wearing both, while additionally having a padded mod on body piece will give freezing immunity (100% cold resistance).

Branch Mission[]

Each normal level in Asterius Habitat has an additional enemy called an AsterTech Sentry. They fire rockets that leave a chilling mist behind, not unlike the later military sentries you find on Io. In their hacking menu, instead of a command to disable them, they each have two commands to unlock one of the Breach side rooms (more below). Hacking these special sentries is also cheaper than normal, requiring just one multitool and becoming free with just single level of hacking skill.

In order to benefit from the AsterTech Sentries, you must hack them and bring them to the Asterius Breach. An abundantly cautious player may choose to have the sentries wait on the previous floor of the habitat and clear the Breach out first, to keep the sentries safe as long as possible. Once the Breach has been cleared as usual, beyond the ordinary treasure room are three locked rooms, which each sentry can open one of, depending on their specific commands. After opening a door, the sentry cannot be used to open any other doors. If Asterius Habitat has three floors (and you preserve the sentries the whole way), you will be able to open each of the rooms; otherwise, only two (or fewer) will be available.

Note that each sentry only has the option of opening one of two doors, not any of the three. As such, even if the player has managed to get all three sentries to the breach, they should be careful not to accidentally lock themselves out of a door by consuming both sentries that could unlock that door on a different door.

Asterius Breach[]

Asterius Breach is a dark area with a walkway around the perimeter of the level, surrounding one big hall. Mechanical units guard a foyer and locked door at the south end of the hall. This foyer has 3 lootboxes behind locked doors and a terminal, which can be used to open the main hall.

Inside are a number of beasts. Killing all of these will unlock a final room at the north end of the hall, where the level rewards can be found.

Accessing the Loot[]

See: Branch mission. Lead the AT sentries you hacked at previous levels of branch inside normal rewards area, which will make their unlock options active. Then just activate the unlock command of your choice and wait until sentry walks to the specified door and opens it. Remember, AT sentries native to Breach are NOT participating in branch mission and cannot unlock reward doors.
